The American Theatre Guild Presents Broadway Shows to Help Underfunded Schools.
The American Theatre Guild in Kansas City
The American Theatre Guild (ATGuild) was established for the purpose of presenting National Broadway touring productions in order to generate revenue to support under-served schools, communties and organizations across the United States, specifically in the area of the performing arts.
ATGuild began its work on Broadway touring engagements in the 2018-2019 season. ATGuild has grown quickly to include 12 markets at the present time. Currently, ATGuild presents in Birmingham, Alabama; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Eugene, Oregon; Kansas City, Missouri (the home of ATGuild); Lubbock, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Riverside, California; Santa Barbara, California; South Bend, Indiana; Thousand Oaks, California; Toledo, Ohio; and Wichita, Kansas.
The American Theatre Guild is dedicated to providing the experience of live theatre to foster passion, inspire creativity and empower youth within communities. To that end, ATGuild established Staging The Future, a program which enables under-served young people to experience live musical theater. Non-profit organizations which focus on assisting children and Title I schools are eligible to participate in the program. ATGuild is committed to providing the magic of live musical theater to all children. More than just offering tickets to a show, through Staging The Future, the organization strives to give students and educators a complete experience with post show talk backs and meet and greet sessions with cast members. ATGuild also provides educational materials to enhance the show experience and through the program, can cover all costs associated with in-school Masters Classes. Many of the children reached will go on to pursue careers in theater as actors, directors, dancers or producers and even more will continue their love for theater as supporter of the arts throughout their lives. With Staging The Future, ATGuild hopes to bring a love and a passion for the performing arts to a whole new generation of patrons.
