Celebrating its 75th Anniversary, Carousel is the second musical written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and features one of the most glorious scores in musical theater history. MTH’s production will feature an 11-piece orchestra, live on stage.

Due to COVID-19, this production was moved from March/April, 2020 to August/September. We anticipated generating a significant amount of ticket revenue for this show, and we expected that revenue in March/April ~ to help us cover artist salaries, production expenses (most of which we had to pay in advance), as well as salaries and health insurance for our MTH staff.

Here are some insider videos:

An excerpt for the CAROUSEL ballet, shot on a rooftop overlooking Kansas City at dusk. Dancers: Ava Wichser and Colin Frederick. Choreo by Caroline Dahm. Shot by Kenny Personett and Tim Scott. Edited by Tim Scott.

In this video Mark A. Exline gives you a behind the scenes look and offers insight into his scenic design for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CAROUSEL at MTH.

Before every MTH show, MTH Founder George Harter gives a pre-show talk highlighting the historical significance of the musical and offering some context for our patrons. We worked hard to capture this on video for you. Enjoy.

Celebrating local Artists: We’ve had the honor of working with several amazing choreographers, most recently the brilliant Caroline Dahm. In this video Caroline gives us a look at Carousel and offers insight into her art form of telling stories through movement.
