Johnson County Community College’s
Midwest Trust Center
Welcomes Guests to Spring Shows

Overland Park, KS (March 14, 2022) Emily Behrmann, Executive Director, the Midwest Trust Center (formerly Carlsen Center), invites audiences to purchase tickets for April and May shows, featuring acclaimed artists in contemporary dance, ballet, rock ‘n’ roll, country music and arts education. Performances will take place at the Midwest Trust Center on the campus of Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210). High-res photos with IDs can be found here.

Performances include:

April 2, 2022, 8:00 p.m. – For their 50th anniversary celebration, Pilobolus questions its own “givens,” turns its
traditions sideways, and brings its past into the future. As fresh and vibrant as ever, Pilobolus –that feisty arts
organism– puts the “Oh!” in BIG FIVE OH! and continues to morph its way thrillingly into audiences’ hearts
and minds. The celebration includes signature works from vintage classics to their trend-setting innovative
work in shadow.

April 8, 2022, 8:00 p.m. – Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock ‘N’ Roll pays tribute to the fascinating stories and
groundbreaking music of everyone’s favorite genre. With a cast of Broadway headliners and rock ‘n roll icons,
this star-studded show pays tribute to five decades of legends, from Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley to The Who,
Aerosmith, Springsteen, Journey and more.

April 10, 2022, 7:00 p.m. – The Texas Tenors are celebrating more than 10 years together! The three-time
Emmy Award-winning trio will perform hits that audiences will know and love, mixed with brand-new music.
These classically trained, versatile tenors first appeared on “America’s Got Talent in 2009 and have become the
most successful music group in the history of the show. This performance is rescheduled from its original date
in January 2022.

April 14, 2022, 7:30 p.m. – Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo brings their company of professional
male dancers to perform a full range of ballet and modern dance repertoire in Yardley Hall. Heavy, hairy bodies
delicately balance on toes, portraying swans, sylphs, water sprites, romantic princesses, angst-ridden Victorian
ladies. Their faithful renditions of Swan Lake, Paquita, Les Sylphides and more are comic yet still beautiful,
enhancing rather than mocking the spirit of dance as an art form. The troupe is sure to delight and amuse all
audiences, from the most knowledgeable to the novice.

April 30, 2022, 8:00 p.m. – ACM and CMT Award winner Scotty McCreery is one of current country music’s
most popular artists and has built a strong catalog of fan favorite songs over the last 10 years, including a streak
of four consecutive No. 1 hits: “Five More Minutes,” “This is It,” “In Between,” and his most recent one (just

last month), “You Time.” He recently released his fifth album, Same Truck, which features his new single,
“Damn Strait.” The 27-year-old singer/songwriter, who has been married to his high school sweetheart for three
years, often writes songs about his personal life and observations, giving listeners the opportunity to learn more
about him through his music.

May 14 and 15, 2022, 11:00 a.m. – Mesner Puppet Theater will bring their successful digital series In the
Workshop to life for an interactive workshop experience. Aliens have invaded the workshop, and it’s up to you
to help save the day! In the Workshop Live brings audiences out of their seats and onto the bare stage, using
their imagination to become a space cadet, traveling through space and time. Space cadets must learn ways to
focus their minds and bodies and use their senses to help keep themselves safe. In the Workshop Live is more
than a puppet show or workshop; it’s imaginative, it’s interactive, it’s for everyone, and it’s out of this world!

May 21, 2022, 11:00 a.m. –Join award-winning kid rocker Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove and his band, The
Hiccups, for a family dance jamboree. During this high-energy, interactive program, dozens of little rockers are
selected from the audience to perform with the band on stage. Adults get their turn, too, during the fist-pumpin’
finale. This event is part of the MTC Kids Jam concert series featuring free events designed with families in
mind!
