For Immediate Release:
KANSAS CITY, MO. (April 25, 2023) KC Melting Pot Theatre is proud to present the, Award-Winning Stage Play “STEW” by Zora Howard..
KC Melting Pot Theatre is excited to bring “STEW” to Kansas City audiences. The production will be directed by local theatre veteran, Ile Haggins, and will feature a talented cast of actors from the Kansas City community.
This play follows three generations of Tucker women who come together at their mother’s home to prepare a traditional stew for a very important day that the family celebrates annually. As the stew simmers, so do the family secrets that boil over in this exploration of family trauma that effects Black families from generation to generation.
“We are thrilled to be bringing ‘STEW‘ to the stage,” said Artistic Director, Nicole Hodges Persley. “Zora Howard has written a powerful and moving story about family, tradition, and the struggle to find one’s place in the world. We can’t wait for audiences to experience this incredible play.”
